Curcumin increased the levels of an anti-inflammatory agent, adiponectin and reduced levels of leptin.

The curcumin-treated group also had a reduced level of insulin resistance, reduced cholesterol, and uric acid levels and reduced abdominal obesity.

At the end of 6 months, a slight reduction in body weight was observed in the curcumin group.

Curcumin was well tolerated throughout the 6-month study.

How did this occur?

Dietary curcumin also prevents cholesterol accumulation and exerts an anti-atherogenic effect.

Can Splenda Help With Weight Loss

Participants who drank water followed by glucose in one visit were given sucralose followed by glucose in the next, so that every subject served as their own control group. The researchers found that when participants drank sucralose, their blood sugar levels were at a higher level than when they drank only water before eating glucose. The insulin levels of those who drank sucralose increased by about 20 percent.
