Choose A Healthy Yogurt
The type of yogurt that’s best for you will depend on your health goals, daily calorie intake and any health conditions that limit your diet such as diabetes or high cholesterol. Harvard Health Publishing says you should opt for a high-protein yogurt with as little sweetener as possible. Common yogurt sweeteners include sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, fruit juice concentrate and honey.
Another thing to look for in low-carb yogurt is added ingredients that can make you feel bloated or cause other digestive issues like diarrhea. Some brands add thickening agents to improve the texture of the yogurt, but these can upset your stomach. If you get a stomachache after eating yogurt, check the ingredients to identify any thickeners that might not agree with you.

Siggis Skyr Blueberry New Lower Sugar
Net carbs: 9 g
Review score: 3.5 stars
Siggis Icelandic Skyr, hit the shelves in the United States around 2015 and you can now find it in most well-stocked supermarkets. Its claim to fame is that its not only relatively low carb, it is also a very high protein product with 14 grams of protein per serving.
I find the yogurt a bit too firm and a bit on the sour side. Since its sweetened with cane sugar and they are trying to keep the carbs low, they probably didnt add a lot of sugar.
Despite the Skyr being sweetened with cane sugar, I found the blood sugar impact to be fairly mild. I do have to inject insulin to not see a blood sugar impact, which is to be expected when I eat 9 grams of carb, but with insulin, I didnt see a spike in my blood sugars.

Ratio Keto Friendly Vanilla
Pros: The only low carb yogurt brand with keto friendly written on the label, :ratio backs up their claim by offering a scanty 3.25 grams of carbs per 245 gram serving.
Cons: The relatively extensive ingredient list raises some serious questions: non-fat milk, pasteurized milk, milkfat, and avocado oil add up to a highly processed product. Avocado oil is likely a cost-cutting additionmilkfat is expensive. Avocado is a highly processed industrial oil, but at least its comparatively low in inflammatory PUFAs at only 10%.
The biggest red flag here is the fact that :ratio calls this stuff vanilla dairy snack, which means it doesnt legally meet the requirements of a true yogurt.

Our Methodology: How We Chose & Tested The Low Sugar Yogurts
We scoured the shelves to find the healthiest options with less than 10 grams of sugar per serving, made with rBST-free milk, and avoiding any that had artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and preservatives. We found seven brands that fit the bill and opted for the mixed berry flavor of each.
We tasted through them all , evaluating them for texture and flavor.
We wanted yogurts that really tasted like fruit, not plain yogurt. We also wanted a texture that was creamy, not excessively thick. Some yogurts had barely any fruit flavor at all and some were almost pasty. But we quickly zeroed in on the one that offered the most fruit flavor and creamiest texture.

Greek Nondairy Or Regular Yogurt
Greek yogurt is currently a big trend in yogurt. It differs from traditional yogurt because it is strained more times, removing some of the whey and lactose.
This gives Greek yogurt about twice as much protein as traditional yogurt and around half the carbs . Its a great option as a filling snack and for those who are lactose intolerant.
However, this means Greek yogurt is also typically higher in calories and fat and contains less calcium than traditional yogurt.
Like other types of yogurt, many brands are also filled with added sugar.
Dairy-free yogurts, such as soy or coconut yogurt, have also become popular. Because they are plant-based, they are much lower in fat than traditional yogurt and do not contain lactose.
These are ideal choices for vegans and people with lactose intolerance. However, they do not naturally contain much calcium, so be sure to check the label for a brand with added calcium and vitamin D.
Greek yogurt, nondairy, and regular yogurt can all be healthy options, but none are necessarily healthier than the others.

The foods above will help limit blood glucose spikes during the night and ensure lower blood glucose levels in the morning. It’s not easy to find healthy snacks for diabetes to eat before bed or at night but it seems like Greek yogurt with no added sugar could also be an excellent choice.
If you have diabetes, there are a lot of healthy snacks that you can choose from. As a rule of thumb, it is always good to choose high fiber, protein-rich, low in sugar, and healthy fats. All of them are good to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
Among all such healthy options, you can also try any of the following.

But in fact there’s no requirement in Australia for Greek-style yoghurt to be made in a certain way or contain particular ingredients. And in our review of 22 Greek yoghurts, the amounts of beneficial nutrients varied widely.
