    Ive done the math for the most common measurements.

    For example, if the recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon, you will need to cut the amount listed for 1 teaspoon in half.

    Or, if the recipe calls for 3/4 cup, then use the amount listed in the 1/2 cup plus the 1/4 cup row.

    And if the recipe calls for 2/3 cup, then use double the amount listed in the 2/3 cup row.

    Most low carb sweeteners are granular, like sugar. However you may also find a low carb sweetener thats powdered.

    What do you do if a recipe calls for a powdered sweetener but you only have a granulated sweetener?

    Yes, you can, but you have to make an adjustment. Truvia is 2 1/4 times the sweetness of sugar. You would use 1/3 cup + 1.5 tablespoons of this sweetener for each 1 cup of sugar.

    For 1 teaspoon of sugar, use 3/8 teaspoon of this DIY Truvia .

    You might find that substituting will work well for baking, or you might need to make up for some of the sweetener bulk. It will work great in beverages, however.

    The natural low carb sweeteners in this article are all pretty mild when it comes to side effects. But, there can be some.

    If you have a sensitive stomach, its best to avoid xylitol and prebiotic fiber syrups. Erythritol is usually okay, with a few people being rare exceptions. If this is an issue, sometimes you can get used to erythritol by introducing it slowly.

    The keto sweetener with the least side effects is allulose, because its chemically most similar to sugar .

    Stevia and chicory root may cause headaches for people that are allergic to ragweed, birch, and similar plants. Chicory root may cause other allergic reactions as well.
