Are Yasso Bars Healthy
I will not lie to you and tell you that Yasso bars are the healthiest ice cream you can buy because they are not.
The milk is not organic, and much less grass-fed. The bars have processed oils, sugar, and natural flavors .
However, they are not the unhealthiest ice cream in the market either. My advice is to not eat Yasso bars every day, but have them as a replacement whenever you are craving ice cream.

I Love Frozen Fruit With A Twist Or Chocolate Shell
I like to put lime juice on green grapes and freeze them.Anton_dios/Shutterstock
I love drizzling green grapes with lime juice and then popping them in the freezer. They taste like sour candy.
Sometimes I also buy chocolate-covered frozen fruit from TruFru or Banana Babies they make for a great end-of-night snack.

What Factors Can Make Frozen Yogurt Not
Perhaps the biggest issue with froyo: that most people dump all sorts of nutrition-less toppings on it.
“Customers may add sugary toppings such as candy, fudge, and chocolate sauces to a healthy non-fat Greek frozen yogurt, tipping the scale into unhealthy territory, says Nguyen.
And, frankly, many frozen yogurt eaters aren’t opting for the plain Greek yogurt, anyways.
People forget that different varieties have different nutrition profiles, says Nguyen. Opt for red velvet or cookies and cream froyo, and you’re getting lots of added sugars and other ingredients that also affect your cup’s health factor.
I Love Making Zucchini Bites In My Air Fryer
My air fryer is definitely my best friend because I can use it to satisfy most of my cravings in under 10 minutes.
To make these bites, I top sliced zucchini with grated parmesan, paprika, garlic salt, and black pepper. Sometimes I switch it up by topping them with taco seasoning or by using sliced sweet potatoes as my base instead.

You Can Make Frozen Yogurt Relatively Healthybut It’s All In How You Indulge
Of course, you can totally still treat yourself to tangy froyo just keep your wits about you when you do.
If you’re at a self-serve froyo joint, first, opt for the froyo variety with the least fat and sugar, recommends Nguyen. Typically, original, plain yogurt will be your best bet.
If they have plain, non-fat Greek froyo, though, go for that. “The nutrition profile is even better, with approximately 0 grams of fat, 14 grams of sugar, and six grams of protein, which helps slow our absorption of sugar, Nguyen says.
Once you’ve selected a solid yogurt base, don’t let the size of the serving spoon or bowl deceive you into overfilling, says Geerts. A proper portion size is half a cup, or four ounces.
From there, top your froyo with fresh fruits and plain nuts to bump up the nutrients and protein. If you’re into PB, opt for natural peanut butter instead ofpeanut butter sauce, suggests Nguyen. Need more sweetness? Add a touch of honey.

I love frozen yogurt popsicles, especially Yasso brand. These are not as good as those but theres a reason why.
Yasso bars use milk & sugar as the base, and then add Greek yogurt to that. These bars are made with only Greek yogurt as the base so the flavor is much closer to yogurt than ice cream.
Is that a bad thing? I certainly dont think so! But I want to set the record straight in case youre making these expecting a vanilla ice cream flavor.

Improving my health was incredibly daunting to me because I thought I’d have to give up my love of snacking.
I’d struggled with emotional binge eating since I was a kid and it got more severe when I lost my mom when I was 17 years old. When I turned 19, I had no idea how I’d ever lose the weight I gained much less keep it off.
Fortunately, all I needed to do was make a few modifications to my eating habits. And finding satisfying snacks and has completely changed the game for me.
I love picking snacks that I get excited about and I try to focus on how much I eat instead of what I eat.

Danone Oykos Strawberry Yogurts
Verdict: Despite their fruit content, Danone arent the healthiest yogurts out there. Plus theyre not too friendly on the purse either. Save these for a once-in-a-while dessert, rather than a between-meal snack. Dr Sana Khan says, These do contain quite a bit of sugar.
You Can Look Out For These Better

They have enough sugar to satisfy your sweet tooth, but are still low enough in added natural sugar to avoid sabotaging your health. Most of the bars are 100 calories each, though there are a few flavors that are only 80 calories per bar. Most importantly, these babies are real food without any artificial taste. Perfect for dessert!
Whats The Difference Between Frozen Yogurt And Ice Cream Really
Both frozen yogurt and ice cream are milk-based products, so they tend to contain about the same amount of protein and sugar , says Geerts.
However, ice cream is typically made with cream or milk fat, which contributes to its higher fat and saturated fat content.
Frozen yogurt, on the other hand, is made of milk fermented with yogurt cultures, so it has about as much fat as a standard glass of low-fat milk. The downside: As with many lower-fat products, brands often add extra sugar to froyo to compensate for its less-creamy taste.
Anywho, here’s what you’ll get in your average half-cup serving of vanilla frozen yogurt, according to the USDA Nutrient Database:
- Calories: 114
- Iron: 0.059 mg
- Sodium: 52.8 mg
In addition to calories and fat, there’s another difference between frozen yogurt and ice cream you’re probably wondering about: probiotics.
But is heading to your nearest froyo joint as gut-healthy as eating a serving of actual yogurt? Yes and no.
Frozen yogurt begins like refrigerated yogurt, by adding two essential live cultures to milk, says Geerts. Most of the live bacterial cultures survive freezing, however, varying production methods and added ingredients mean all frozen yogurt products are not created equal.
Dan Nguyen, RD, dietitian at HelloFresh, suggests reading a froyo’s label and ingredient list to confirm the presence of “live and active cultures.”

My Version Of Dirt And Worms Makes Me Feel Like A Kid Again

You can also substitute the worms for whipped cream.
How To Make These Frozen Yogurt Popsicles
I actually tried a few different versions of these bars, and the ones here are my favorite of the bunch.
First, I followed the same recipe as my Cookie Dough Parfait, which has more of a cookie-dough base instead of vanilla. These were decent, but I much prefer the popsicle being vanilla, then the additional flavor coming from the cookie dough itself.
Next, I tried using plain Greek yogurt flavored with powdered sugar and vanilla. The flavor was good, but the powdered sugar ended up making the popsicles pretty gritty.
The final version we have here is simple: vanilla Greek yogurt, some vanilla extract, and Cool Whip.
The addition of Cool Whip helps the texture of these to keep them on the softer side. Without it, the Greek yogurt will just freeze completely hard.
The high amount of protein in these means that theyre still going to freeze pretty solid but the Cool Whip helps make sure they wont break your teeth!
As for the cookie dough in these popsicles, I used my Protein Cookie Dough Recipe. I actually made a batch ahead of time, so I was good to go! Ive included the cookie dough recipe in the recipe card below, but I do recommend making it ahead of time if you can!
Not only will that streamline the process, but we only need about 1/3 of the cookie dough or so, so youll have plenty leftover to snack on.
But is anyone ever going to complain about too many chocolate chips? No way.
All thats left to do is let them freeze!
